By · Comments
With the close of the fall soccer season upon us, we again look forward to a traditional All-Star games with Greene County All Star players. This year there will be two games with Greene vs Madison U-10 Girls All Stars and U-10 Boys All Stars. The event started in the Spring of 2009 and has been a big success and a lot of fun for the coaches and kids.
Please come out and support your All Stars!
Where: Greene Rec Fields (directions below)
Date: November 13th, 2010
Time: Girls All Stars play at 1:00 - Boys All Stars play at 2:30
Directions: From Madison 29 South to 230 west (at the Sheetz).
Follow 230 west until it intersects with Business 33 and make a left at the stop sign (you’ll see a Pottery store there towards the right at that intersection).
Follow Business 33 (east) up to the traffic light where it intersects Bypass 33. Go straight through that light (road becomes Swift Run Road as you pass over Bypass 33), then make your first left hand turn on Mays Road (you’ll see a sign on the right side that lets you know the Community Park is to the left as well as the Animal Shelter).
Come down that road maybe a quarter of a mile, you’ll pass through an open gate and you’ll be able to see the recycling center straight ahead . . . before you go through the second gate, you’ll see the big sign on the left hand side for Greene County Community Park.
Make that left into the park and follow that road all the way up and around, it ends at the parking lot for the soccer fields.

New Fields Get A Helping Hand
By · Comments
This past Saturday an enthusiastic group of people gathered on the new Madison, Virginia soccer fields and volunteered their time and energy for the improvement of the playing fields. Along with hard work there was a lot of fun to be had by all.
The largest rock award went to Jim Landolt. Assisting the adults were lots and lots of kid help. Others who attended were Bruce Parker(not pictured), Yates Sealander, Lisa Warren, Maya Roberts, Chris Newman, Danny Criglar, Fred Santinga and Steve Gohn.
The next volunteer day is Sunday, August 29th at 1:00.
Please come and if you can, bring a friend. Thanks to your efforts our kids will play safer.
