Sign-ups for spring soccer are NOW!!

There will be a soccer meeting for all coaches and anyone interested in helping on Saturday Feb 25th at 10:00 a.m. at the Clore house at the soccer fields.

We will be holding soccer signups at McDonalds on Tuesday February 28th from 5:30 to 7:00 and Saturday March 3rd from 10:00 to 12:00.

We are sending flyers home from the schools.

Indoor Soccer Schedule 2011-2012

Winder Indoor Soccer is going on now. There will be no indoor soccer 12/24-25 (Christmas weekend) and 12/31-01/01 (New Year’s weekend) Sessions will resume 01/07/2012 and continue from then as follows:

Saturdays Indoor Soccer Times
Junior Ages 8 – 12 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Senior Ages 13 – Adult 8:00 – 9:30 PM

Sundays Indoor Soccer Times
All Ages Play 4:00 – 5:00 PM
Junior Skills Clinic with Dan Hayes 5:00 – 6:15 PM
Senior Skills Clinic with Dan Hayes 6:30 – 7:45 PM

Madison Soccer Winter Clinics With Coach Dan Hayes

Junior Skills Clinic
This clinic is for players in the 10-14 year old age group, with a focus on Technical Training. Players will train to use all surfaces of their feet, on the move, and under pressure. This will be done through a curriculum of competitive small-sided games, designed to encourage creativity with the ball. Coach Hayes offered this about the clinic, “The average player can do so much more with a ball than they give themselves credit for. With enthusiastic guidance we encourage them to realize that potential and increase their enjoyment and love of the game!
Location: Waverly Yowell Elementary School gym
Dates: Sundays in January and February 5:00-6:15 PM (beginning Sunday January 8th)
Cost: $40.00 (If you have already paid for indoor soccer the clinic cost is $25.00)
(Registration includes membership in Winter 2011/2012 Indoor Soccer program on Saturday evenings)
Players are to bring appropriate indoor footwear, shinguards, a #5 size ball and water.

Senior Skills Clinic
This clinic is for the competitive player in the 15-19 year old age groups. This clinic will have great emphasis on executing Technical Skill with the highest possible speed. Technical Training on all surfaces, under pressure, and changing pace during and after every skill performed. The competitive activities will focus on small-sided tactics. Throughout the clinic the players will learn a variety of warm-ups. These warm-ups have been proven over the last few years to drastically reduce the risk of injury to soccer player, specifically, knee and ankle injuries.
Location: Waverly Yowell Elementary School gym
Dates: Sundays in January and February 6:30-7:45 PM (beginning Sunday January 8th)

Indoor Soccer Signups Going On Now

Sign up now for Winter 2011/2012 Indoor Soccer. Sessions will take place Saturday
evenings and Sundays at Waverly Yowell Gym beginning Dec. 3, 2011 through February 2012. All
ages are eligible. Registration Fee is $15. Register at Madison County Facilities and
Recreation office upstairs in the War Memorial Building during regular business hours.

Madison Rec Games Postponed 10/29

All recreational games in Madison for today 10/29 are cancelled due to weather. No makeup date is scheduled.

Please note that this cancellation does not yet apply to the U18 Girls Travel game scheduled for 2 PM today. The status for this game will be assessed later.

Culpeper Fields Are Closed 10/1

Due to very wet fields the Culpeper fields have been closed for Saturday 10/1/11. Makeup games will be rescheduled. Madison Fields are OPEN and will be played on schedule.

Fall Soccer Is LIVE!

We are very excited about this soccer season. The games are scheduled to begin on September 10th. Please check with your coaches for details. You can find the fall schedules and new field map posted on our website.
Picture Day for Madison will be on September 24th.

Soccer Car Wash August 20th

The Boys and Girls JV and Varsity Soccer teams are holding a car wash on August 20th from 10:00a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Madison High School.

Please attend and bring your dirty cars and trucks. Your donations will help a great cause and your car will shine!

Madison Wood Donates Material For Soccer Shed

Thanks to Madison Wood for their donation to the Madison Parks & Rec Soccer. In January the Parks & Rec Soccer Association needed a new shed and the generous people at Madison Wood Preserves stepped forward with the supplies. There will be a team of volunteers gathering in mid-September to help build the shed. The date will be announced. Please plan to attend.
